Two double laminate longbows coming along nicely. The one on the right is fully tillered to 29″ and need to be carefully reduced in draw weight.
The one on the left is showing the first step in creating the “D” cross section, which is a design feature of the target longbow. The next step is to remove the ridges to form a convex belly.
Materials: bamboo backed castello-box.
On the 2nd Sunday of every month, you can find me at the lovely Gort Community Market. It’s a beautiful space for arts and crafts, with live music, hot drinks and food. I sell my bows (actual longbows as well as beginners’ sets for kids), arrows, and wooden toys – all handmade, of course.
It was bright but freezing cold this weekend. We stuck it out around the cosy fires with hot apple punch and lots of coffee!
The Gort Community Market takes place in the beer garden of Hennelley’s Bar in Gort, from 11 am to 4 pm. Entry is free.

I’m planning on regularly updating this with pictures of my latest bows, archery events and other news. For now, here’s a few pictures of an ash longbow I sold last summer.
